Sunshine Coast brides! We have a date for you to pen into your diary. Notice we said pen, not pencil, because there will be no erasing of this little beauty, that's for dang sure. The date is September 8, and the event is… wait for it…. the Sunshine Coast's first vintage events fair!
Ahhhhh! (That was our angels noise, hallejulah-style.)
We are SO excited about this event. We are going to be there… But you may not find us at our stall, because we just might be too busy nipping around to everybody else's displays to check out all of their lovely things. The fair is for all kinds of events – birthdays, christenings, tea parties, work parties, but of course the big one – weddings!
To give you an idea of the inspiration you can expect from this event, we asked the lovely ladies from A Darling Affair Weddings & Events to share some of their fave darling wedding details today. They are just… Darling! Enjoy!
Hi there from Emily and Carrie at A Darling Affair! We are looking forward to our launch event in September, but until then, we would love to share some wedding inspiration for all the lovely Bride's Tree followers.
Here are a few things that make our checklist for a Darling wedding:
For the Bride:
Colour pop shoes! We love the cheeky pop of colour hiding away beneath a curtain of white silk; or perhaps on full display for our bolder vintage brides sporting a shorter 1950's inspired gown. We also love a great fascinator.

For the Maids:
It is near impossible to find one dress to suit them all. So why bother? We love mismatched bridesmaid dresses, the trick is a consistent feel (across the styles) and complimentary colour palette.

For the Groom:
We can't go past a great bow tie, with great colourful hues to boot. Not for the faint of heart, a groom in a bow tie definitely notches up some extra swagger. Looks great on a studly little man too. Or try a bold coloured tie and matching sneakers for extra fun.

For the Blooms:
Love succulents, and wild flowers, with a well coordinated multi-colour palette. If you want something a little longer lasting and very vintage-chic, you could always opt for a button or brooch bouquet too.

For the Room:
Vintage props and mismatched features. Add a greater portion of whimsy and flair by throwing caution to the wind and having chairs, vases, and dinnerware of all different sizes and shapes. A great vintage prop never goes astray, adding to the atmosphere and a great way to incorporate colour.

For Your Information:
Signage. Looks great, and so informative (well, perhaps the guests wouldn't get lost without it – but did we mention that it looks great?)

For the Guests:
Unique and creative favours and guest book alternatives. Favours are your way of sending a little love and a little of yourselves away with your guests, they should represent you as a couple – they should be unique! As for your guest "book", there are great alternatives like wishing trees or fingerprint designs. Why not opt for something a little more playful, like a puzzle, or even a set of Jenga pieces?!

For the Fun of It:
Candy Buffet's are delicious for the eyes and for the taste buds. The key elements are a great vintage table or dresser, doilies, fresh flowers, apothecary jars, cute little labels, and of course gorgeous colourful treats!
