Lake Weyba Australian Bush Wedding

Their union took a bit of encouragement from friends over the course of several double dates, but Lauren finally couldn't resist Don's infectious laugh that fills a room with warmth. Meanwhile, Don had fallen head over heels for Lauren's wit and bubbly personality. Love unfolded and the rest, as they say, is history!

Lauren and Don were married in a Lake Weyba ceremony, and followed it up with a cocktail-style catered reception at Eumarella Shores. The Australian bush setting on the Noosa waterfront of Lake Weyba really needed no jazzing up, so the couple decided to keep things simple and let the location speak for itself. Lauren simply wanted to enhance what was already so beautifully there. The bridal bouquet was one way Lauren gave a nod to the natural Australian bush wedding theme, choosing mostly native flowers with splashes of pink, mauve and olive. They even had some kangaroos turn up for a sneaky peek at the bride and groom!

Canapes, cheese platters and hot boxes of delicious beef stroganoff or pesto chicken pasta with fresh parmesan were offered to guests cocktail-style, while 4-piece live band DisKord rocked the house with all their fave tunes. Sounds like a pretty darn fun Sunshine Coast bush wedding to us!

Lauren and Don would have to be pretty happy with their wedding album, full of stunning images by Sunshine Coast wedding photographer, Katja Anton Photography, as you can see from these pretty piccies below!

Details of all the wonderful Sunshine Coast wedding suppliers that made this day happen are listed after the photos.

"The most important items that were important to us in terms of priority when planning a wedding was finding a location where we could hold our wedding over two nights."

"We know each other, we understand each other, we go through the hard times, which make us stronger, but also enjoy the good times"

"Our celebrant, Mary Bruce, who lives on the Sunshine Coast was wonderful and very supportive when planning what we wanted in our ceremony."

"Really it's about communication, spending time with each other, (i.e. no iPhone at dinner!), having a laugh and cry together. Marriage isn't rocket science, what you put in it is what you get out of it."

"We decided to go with a cocktail style service as we wanted our guests to mingle. It worked out well as some of our guests moved freely from the deck that overlooked the lake to the dance floor where we hired a band."

Some Sound Advice From The Bride

"Make sure you do up a running sheet. This can be as detailed as you like, but this was a great to let everyone know what's happening, whether it's your caterer, husband, family, or whoever needed to know what was happening."
