As a writer, I love a blank page. That moment before I start typing, before I even know where my fingers hovering above the keyboard will take me is my favourite. I take a deep breath, sometimes pause a moment, and then something happens – my mind clicks in, and it all starts coming out. Sometimes in small parts, sometimes it starts with one idea or concept and grows. Sometimes is floods uncontrollably, and I need to take a moment to gather myself and organise my waves of thoughts crashing into my consciousness.
This is why I love Maleny Retreat. When you pull up and step out onto that expansive green with a panoramic horizon, you take that deep breath. And ideas creep in, or bolt in. It’s a blank page. A blank canvas, full of possibility. Seeing what others have done with this versatile space is inspiring.
