The key to getting this trend right is to make sure each bridesmaid wears the same length and similar textile. Bonus points if you’re sure to all select either a warm or cool toned pink – or whichever colour you’re going for.
Amy’s groom, Ryan, was quite literally the boy next door – to her best friend that is – when they met at just 10 years old.
“He is my best friend, the love of my life, and the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Saying ‘yes’ to marrying him was the easiest choice I’ve ever made.”
Amy shares the story of her wedding day and the wedding planning journey below…

A Change of Venue
When we started planning our wedding, we were surprised by how expensive it could be and initially chose the cheapest venue. However, as time went on, those costs climbed and nearly matched our dream venue, which we had originally thought was out of reach. Ultimately, we made the tough decision to cancel our first venue, and it turned out to be one of the best choices we made.
Wedding Planning Priorities
We aimed to create a stress-free day for both ourselves and our guests, choosing a local venue that reflects our personal style. Our vision was to host a fun, lively party filled with the best food and drinks, crafting an unforgettable atmosphere for everyone involved.
My Planning Resources
My wedding planner, Jacqueline from Wild Heart Weddings, helped me with many of the suppliers. For inspiration, I turned to Pinterest, The Bridal Journey, The Wed, and, of course, The Brides Tree.

We always envisioned our wedding in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, making it convenient for us to plan and accessible for our guests, as many of our family and friends live nearby.
Amy & Ryan’s Hinterland Wedding Secrets
Biggest splurge: We chose the wedding venue with our guests in mind. It was essential for us to have both the ceremony and reception in the same location, allowing everyone to relax and fully enjoy the day without the hassle of traveling between two venues. To make things even easier, we also arranged for a bus service so our guests wouldn’t have to worry about driving.
Best money-saving choice: Getting our best mate to do our catering
Bride’s gown: My dress was custom-made by Darb Bridal Couture
Accessories: Veils custom-made by Darb Bridal Couture and Earrings from Heaven Mayhem
Bride’s shoes: Tony Bianco
Groom’s and groomsmen’s attire: Ferrari Formalwear & Bridal
Bridesmaids’ dresses: Natalie Rolt, Bec and Bridge, Mink Pink, Staud and For Love & Lemons
DIY: Wedding stationery and grazing table
Honeymoon: Italy

Yeh the Girls (and Guys)
Having our bridesmaids and groomsmen with us made the day not only beautiful but deeply meaningful, turning it into an experience we will never forget.
Pink Bridesmaid Dresses: a 2025 Wedding Trend
Amy’s bridesmaids wore all shades and styles of pink bridesmaid dresses. This is a huge 2025 wedding trend that we absolutely LOVE and this bridal party executed it seamlessly… I mean, presumably they did in fact have seams in their gorgeous dresses, but you get what I mean!
Our Wedding Songs
For the bridal party entrance, we chose ‘My Love Mine All Mine’ by Mitski for my bridesmaids. When I walked down the aisle we played ‘Even When I’m Sleeping’ by Leonardo’s Bride. Our bridal party entrance song was ‘Let’s Dance’ by David Bowie, and for our first dance, we chose ‘Harvest Moon’ by Neil Young.

The Proposal
Ryan and I were at Dolphin Sands, Tasmania, staying at a beautiful Airbnb right on the beach. That evening, we shared wine and a platter overlooking the beautiful mountains of Freycinet. Then Ryan said, ‘Wouldn’t this be the perfect place to ask you to marry me?’ He pulled a ring box from his jacket pocket, and in that moment, time felt like it stopped. It’s still the most incredible feeling I’ve ever experienced.
Emotions on High
The most emotional moment was walking down the aisle, and I was so grateful to have my mum and dad by my side. But seeing Ryan’s face was the most overwhelming feeling I’ve ever experienced. The chapel was filled with so much love, and everyone there could feel the depth of our connection. All I can say is that marrying your person truly is the best thing you will ever do in your life.
