Engaged: Melissa and Ben in Doonan

14th August 2014

This handsome couple from Sydney came up to the Sunshine Coast to meet their wedding photographer, Alan Hughes Photography, and a holy gorgeous engagement photo shoot ensued. While they plan to marry in Yandina, their engagement session was held in Doonan, which, for those playing at home, is basically the country/inland part of Noosa.  Having the shoot before their wedding was all about discovering how Alan works in a way to make his subjects relax, enjoy and end up with beautiful pics to boot. I’d say mission accomplished.

13th August 2014

Guest blogger Emma Oxenbridge writes for our new series for work-at-homers.  Hello!  I am Emma Oxenbridge and I am fully submerged in the wedding industry (both on the Sunshine Coast and beyond.)  I run my own wedding planning/coordinating business called Wild Heart Weddings and I am also one third of a gorgeous curated wedding fair known as A Darling Affair.  Between these two businesses I’d say I work anywhere between 20 and 40 hours per week.  I also have a husband and a social life so striking a good life balance is really important for me.  Five things I can’t…

Real wedding: Kelly and Mark at Yandina Station

12th August 2014

Kelly and Mark say having their whole family come out from South Africa to be together to share in their special day made it the most special time. The lovely couple are both originally from South Africa, but met in Melbourne and now live here on the Sunshine Coast. So making sure their international guests would enjoy their stay was of utmost importance in their planning. Knowing 80% of their wedding guests were travelling so very far to be with them on their wedding day at Yandina Station made the couple focus on what was most important, and forego the stressful part…

Striking in black, a full gown with classic lines is extremely elegant for a bridesmaid, or even for a daring bride.  Statement jewellery, bold makeup, and voluminous hair, this fashion sure makes a big impact. Stylist Hayley from Wholehearted Studio dressed these Black Beauties, and they were photographed by Willow + Sage.  Models Roxy and Lisa wear Lucy and Loo convertible dresses in black.  Frankly My Dear handcraft their unique pieces. They specialise in delicate headpieces and chunky chain necklaces.  Lisa’s peepers don a shocking electric blue in her makeup design by The Beauty Case, and her hair is coiffed and…

For our latest magazine, we concepted the most amazing garden wedding inspiration at a private property in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. We gathered a team of wedding professionals, who are amongst the Sunshine Coast’s best.  Today I wanted to share a few of the fashion and beauty images we couldn’t fit in the magazine, because we had so many amazing photos from the far too talented Andrea Sproxton Photography.  Elegant side chignon style side swept over glamorous makeup design. Lurve the perfect brows, perfect glam eyes and red lip perfection. This sleek hairstyle is by Rolling Scissors, while the makeup…

Married with Children

6th August 2014

Today we have a Guest Blogger, the lovely Kari, a Sunshine Coast Celebrant we simply adore!  Congratulations to Hayley and Wade with their darling children, Charlotte and Kobi, married in the delightful Tiffany’s Chapel in Maleny.  Charlotte gave me a priceless opportunity to catch the bridal wrap, as she stood wrapping herself in Mum’s stunning bridal gown, while Toni was organising the group picture.  Too delightful to miss! We seek ceremony when there is something profound happening.  We do things in ceremony that are symbols of a deeper meaning in our lives.  Some things are not easy to express every…
