15th April 2012

We have an exciting announcement to make! Are you ready for this? Wait for it…. Oh, okay yeah, the title of this post kind of gave it away, didn't it? Hmph. Bit of a let down for me. Didn't really think this through… Look, if you would be so kind as to act surprised when I make the announcement in just a sec. Okay, ready? GUESS WHAT?! WE-HAVE-A-MAGAZINE-COMING-OUT-REALLY-REALLY-REALLY-SOON! Oh my goodness, I see you're speechless and totally shocked by the news. (Thank you….) It's exciting, right? Bouquet of the Week

14th April 2012

Welcome to the first of our Bouquet of the Week series! This beautiful bold bouquet comes from Sunshine Coast florist, Blooms of Noosa. It was created for the lovely Kelly for her Sunshine Coast wedding. Kelly's favourite colours are purple and white, and she wanted to use flowers that were in season, which is a wise money-saving choice.  Blooms of Noosa have put together a stunning posy of purple tulips, vanda orchids and white lisianthus. We love the bright purple! A fantastic and very different choice for a bridal bouquet. These photos are by the lovely Katja Anton Photography.   Have…

Photo of the Week

13th April 2012

Today's Photo of the Week is pretty and pure, and funky as hell. We love this creative image by Ritchie Duce of Level Eleven Photography. It's so sweet and natural, but the awesome flesh tunnel earring brings an edginess like no other image we've seen. These little details may go unnoticed by others, but Ritchie is acutely aware that a beautiful bride with this kind of funky style would want it captured amongst all the bridal femininity. This is her style, her personality and her big day, after all. Ritchie is a passionate Sunshine Coast wedding photographer, who runs Level Eleven Photography, an…

Classic Vintage at Sunshine Beach

12th April 2012

Robert and Jules had a simply magical Sunshine Coast wedding day at the Sunshine Beach Surf Club. Family, beautiful flowers, gorgeous styling and presenting personal touches in earnest were all most important to this lovely couple. Fishing, flowers and a love of the ocean helped to form their tasteful classic vintage beach wedding theme. Guests were treated to pretty fishing lures at bombonieres and with a great choice of location, an ocean view complete with whales breaching! Their lunchtime reception both helped keep costs down on the bar tab, and allowed their elder guests to attend in comfort. Family is…

Monogrammed Napkin Bombonieres

11th April 2012

A special little touch to your wedding day tablescape is monogrammed or personalised napkins. Brisbane-based napkin screen-print specialists, Thea & Sami, make the most adorable hand-printed fabric napkins for Sunshine Coast weddings. They have super sweet designs to choose from, and our fave is their Dove Love monogrammed napkin, all packaged up beautifully in their white clay napkin rings. I know you must be thinking this could all get quite costly, but it's surprisingly affordable. Another great idea is to use the printed fabric as a wrapping for your bombonieres! Sweet, sweet Dove Love. We love! Natural colours are a…

10th April 2012

Have you ever planned a big event before? No? Well, this wedding planning caper might be starting to get to be a bit of a headache by now, and you may even find yourself wondering just what you need to do next. Am I right? Of course I am, I'm always right! I've always thought so, anyway… Listen, planning your Sunshine Coast wedding is supposed to be fun, and the best way to make sure it doesn't turn from a slightly irritating headache to a full-blown migraine is to be prepared and organised and have your finger on the pulse,…

Stationery Inspiration : A French Country Wedding

9th April 2012

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, I love more than beautiful stationery. There is just something about the crisp edges of printed paper, and the way the ink dries so precisely… Seriously, stationery of any kind (total Office Works nerd here!) really excites me, but none more than this absolutely beautifully designed collection from Stand Tall Design.  Sunshine Coast graphic designer, Michelle Weller, has created this French Country wedding stationery range, incorporating gorgeous typography, textured paper and 3D elements. Having professionally designed, personalised wedding stationery adds a lot of class to your special day, and your guests will really appreciate the…

Film of the Week

7th April 2012

We just adore this highlights wedding day film by Lumina Motion Pictures, so it's a great way to temporarily conclude our Film of the Week series. The wedding of Les and Sarina was a terribly emotional one. We have it on good authority that the beautiful speech you are about to hear from the groom had absolutely everybody (including the Lumina team!) in tears.  The amazing anniversary present Sarina gifted to her then fiance will just floor you, as it did Les. It's no wonder he and Sarina's entire family describe being blessed with her as "winning the lottery." How…

Photo of the Week

6th April 2012

It's Easter, we wanted to treat you all. This image is nothing short of awesome. Jonas Peterson is the photographer, and somewhat of a superstar one at that. Not only in our eyes, but he is regaled as one of the best in the biz, the world over. Unsurprisingly, as a lover of beautiful things, visually, he has chosen one of the world's most beautiful spots to call his home. Right here on the Sunshine Coast! This image was not taken locally, but we simply had to share it with you, as it is the work of one undeniably brilliant Sunshine…
