Sunshine Coast couple, Di and Locki Knowles, met in 2004 at The Big Day Out on the Gold Coast. At the time, Di wasn’t looking to meet anyone, but being a big animal lover, her heart was stolen when Locki fed a homeless man’s dog! Everybody say, “Awww….!”
After five beautiful years together, Locki proposed, and after 12 months of careful planning, they were married at beautiful North Stradbroke Island with 98 of their family and friends in attendance. Di and Locki achieved a beautiful wedding day they say they would love to live over again exactly the same. Super impressively, they did it on a tight budget of $7000! Their secret – using local Sunshine Coast vendors, keeping it simple with a casual beach theme, and stacks of DIY.
It was most important to Di and Locki to have their day reflect their personalities, by being a genuine, stress-free occasion to marry off a couple of soul mates amongst the people they love.
"I married the man of my dreams! Locki organised a telegram to be read that was from Shelley, a sea turtle I cared for for nine months at the Australian Wildlife Hospital… it was the only time i cried!"
