Drop-dead gorgeous couple, Lisa and Brendan, were recently married here on the Sunshine Coast in the charming hinterland town of Flaxton in a romantic ceremony, followed by a fun-filled reception with their 80 guests.
Talented photographer, Brian, of When Elephant Met Zebra captured the day beautifully with a relaxed, confident, and, as the bride describes it, a ninja-like fashion that meant the couple ended up with an album full of beautiful memories, minus the staged shots and without having felt like they had someone popping up amongst every special moment. Instead, looking through these photos they are all so natural and voyeuristic; I know I feel like I’m actually there at their gorgeous Sunshine Coast hinterland wedding!
“I would highly recommend The Beauty Case – beautiful girls who are very talented! Their fun and positive nature was matched only by their efficiency – they even made time on the day to get a couple of the groom’s family done at very late notice.”
“By stepping away from tradition and having the wedding on a week day we were able to book the suppliers we wanted without concern that they may have been otherwise engaged. This also allowed us to extend the party and make it a long weekend! Having dinner with our guests the night before and brunch the morning after meant we never felt rushed or guilty for not having spent time with our guests.”
“Our photographer, Brian, impressed us with his prefessional, miticulous approach. He exudes confidence, creates and captures the essence of occassion with a ‘measure twice cut once’ approach.”
The proposal, in the words of the groom… “I had booked a surprise weekend away under the guise of celebrating Lisa’s recent promotion at work. The perfect summer day greeted us that morning as we headed to Byron Bay’s hinterland for a long weekend away. A relaxing day spent on the beach was capped off with a cheese platter and bottle of bubbles on our balcony which overlooked the lighhouse and surrounding beaches. As the sun set, the clouds of a summer storm rolled in from over the sea making for a breath taking scene. We had enjoyed a wonderful day together but the enormity of the occassion was well and truly getting to me – I was a nervous wreck. I excused myself for a moment to fetch the ring from the car. Upon my return I took a knee and asked Lisa, the love of my life to marry me. Tears (which at the time I assumed to be tears of joy) rushing down her face, she said yes!”
