Ask anyone in the Sunshine Coast wedding industry about Julie-Ann Brown and you will hear such buzz as “super professional”, “passionate perfectionist” and “completely lovely person.” And frankly, I can completely attest to this.

My experiences with Julie-Ann have always seen me coming away with nothing but the utmost respect for this wedding industry veteran. As impressive as Julie-Ann is with her equally passionate team of wedding professionals, I would call her down-to-earth and friendly. Our meetings are always full of laughs!

Today I’m very pleased to introduce you to the woman of many talents in styling and planning. Her business, Cloud Nine Weddings, is what one might refer to as a one-stop-shop, offering all-the-bells-and-whistles wedding planning and execution, elopement packages, and affordable wedding packages. Her team also love creating bespoke wedding stationery suites, and consult on every aspect of your wedding from venue to florals to catering.

Julie-Ann, what is one unique service or offering or element that makes your business stand out from the crowd?

We love creating great relationships with our clients right from the word go! Our showroom is open Monday – Friday and we’re always busy meeting with couple’s & chatting all things about their wedding. A lot of brides are with us for up to two years planning their big day – so we get to know them very well over that time! Our obligation free appointments are great for bride’s that want to get a better feel for who we are and what we do & to create personalised quotes & packages. We also offer appointments to brides that are newly engaged and aren’t quite sure what the next step is for them. By chatting about their vision we can offer lots of free advice to get the ball rolling & connect them with other local industry professionals.

What’s trending in weddings this year?

Wedding styles are constantly changing and evolving which we love! More couples are opting for a sophisticated cocktail style reception and are focusing on trying to find an all-inclusive venue with their ceremony onsite to make it nice and easy for their guests. They know that the day goes by quickly, so by having everything in one place it definitely saves on time!

The other thing that we’re loving is the surge of love for native greenery and keeping things simplistic – but gorgeous! Lots of focus on the mood of the event, with lighting, live music and love!

You have a completely free day to hang out on the Sunshine Coast. Get out about! Where are you going, what are you doing and who are you with?

There’s nothing more relaxing for me than going out sailing with my husband from Mooloolaba. We’ll pickup fresh prawns and have a picnic on the water enjoying the beautiful Sunshine Coast at it’s best!

Share something about you most people wouldn’t realise.

I’m a very creative person and have only recently rediscovered art through art classes. I’m definitely no Picasso, but I do find it therapeutic and extremely fulfilling.

You exceeded my expectations – it looked better than I ever imagined. You took care of every little detail so I didn’t have to worry about anything. You were able to take my vision and create something better than I ever expected

Tell me about your history in your business and in the wedding industry.

We are about to celebrate Cloud Nine Weddings‘ 21st birthday! I have loved how this business has continued to grow over the years and has continued to be a leading company on the Sunshine Coast for both weddings and event planning, and styling. My background in events and weddings prior to starting Cloud Nine gave me many years in a high pressure environment – perfect for this industry!
