Highschool sweethearts, Tessa and Jordan planned their destination wedding in Noosa from their home in Victoria. Having their hearts set on a beach wedding, when they visited Noosa, they fell madly in love all over again and chose Noosa Boathouse for their Noosa River wedding reception venue. Their ceremony was held at Hidden Grove, Noosa, just off Noosa Main Beach.
Tessa has shared her online wedding planning experience in her own words below…
Why a Noosa River Wedding
We aren’t religious and always wanted an outside beach wedding, but as Victoria has such unpredictable weather we decided the Sunshine coast was the ideal place. We stayed up in Noosa a few months prior to the wedding and fell in love with the place.
Standout Vendor
Rachael from Splash Events was absolutely amazing, we felt like we could ask her anything and she completly blew us away with her styling at the ceremony and reception.

The Proposal
Jordan proposed to me at the top of the One Liberty observation deck in Philadelphia. It was at Sunset and I was taken completely by surprise, it was perfect.
Why I Married This Person
He is my best friend, I always smile when I think of him and he always makes me laugh. I love his family and my family absolutely loves him, which makes life so easy. We support each others dreams and goals in life and I can’t think of anyone more amazing and thoughtful.
Biggest Wedding-planning Challenge
The Guest List, we have a lot of friends and family and we didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but we wanted a small wedding with people who knew us as a couple and loved us.
Advice for Engaged Couples
Just relax, everyone is there to support you. Be a bit selfish with the guest list and just have fun in the little moments on the big day.
The Music
Walking down the aisle was ‘Give Me Love’ by Ed Sheeran, and our first dance was ‘I Like Me Better’ by Lauv. But Daryl Braithwaite’s ‘The Horses’ stole the show at the end of the night.

Wedding Secrets
Biggest splurge: The private ferry for our guests, we didn’t want anyone to be bored while we had our photos taken.
Best money-saver: Having our wedding on a Thursday. Because it was a destination wedding, everyone turned it into a little holiday, so it didn’t make a difference being a weekday.
Wedding-planning resources: The Brides Tree was a massive help for inspiration as well as easyweddings.com.au, and the staff at the Noosa Boathouse.
