It’s a new year beautiful brides, so what better way to kick off brand new bridal inspiration than with a seriously gorgeous wedding at a favourite Maleny wedding venue, Weddings at Tiffany’s | was the dream venue for Senior Research Assistant, Marie, and Engineer, James.
The bride and groom’s classic style, steeped in tradition failed to overshadow their quirky personalities. Having bonded over their mutual love of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings when they first met about five years ago, they wanted to sneak some of their geek love into the day.
For their ring box, of course a nod to Lord of the Rings was a must, and in a creative feat the couple used pages from Harry Potter books to fashion their petal cones for each of their guests at the ceremony. Holy adorable, right?!
Not stopping there with the pop culture references, the whole male side of the bridal party wore superhero socks, and in another cute-as-a-button DIY effort, the couple spent hours making place cards with some of their favourite song lyrics and love quotes on the back. Aww!
Marie and James wanted a Christian ceremony in the Tiffany’s chapel overlooking the Glass House Mountains, and a reception to follow that really wowed their guests. Nothing wows like this Maleny wedding venue with pretty grounds and a view to die for.
I’d say this couple planned and executed a pretty darn perfect wedding, which ticked all their boxes and spoke to them as a couple. I mean, these images by Dream Bella Photography make the love and happiness pretty darn apparent…
“The Tiffany’s staff at our rehearsal the day before made me so calm and confident that they would be able to handle everything and all I had to do was turn up. There was nothing for me to do but have a glass of wine by the fire and enjoy the moment.”
“James and I are both quite traditional and wanted to be married in a Christian ceremony. We were fortunate to have a family friend marry us in our venue of choice. We wanted to have the most beautiful venue as a starting point to an amazing day and I think we achieved with Tiffany’s.” “We work together on all our tasks and are accepting of all the little quirks we have. We share the same interests and values and are just simply best friends.”
“We were engaged for 18 months. James had been working in Emerald for about seven months, where we only saw each other once every few weeks. On a Sunday morning when he was back in Brisbane, James took me out to watch the sunrise over Manly harbour. He got down on one knee just as the sun started to rise. Celebrations had to be put on hold though when I had to take him to the airport just after lunch.”
Wedding Secrets
Biggest splurge: The venue was the biggest splurge, but it was so worth it. We wanted a venue that would make our guests go wow and Tiffany’s delivered.
Best money-saver: We saved on our music by keeping a string duo for the ceremony and canapes and switched to an iPod for the reception.Bridal gown: Jack Sullivan Designs

DIY: James and I handmade all our ceremony programs, and we made petal cones out of pages of Harry Potter Books for the ceremony. We also hand-wrapped the bombonniere (in brown paper and tied up with string – we love The Sound of Music.) We used the bombonniere as our place cards and we put an individualised love quote from one of our favourite books or songs on the back of each guests name tag.
Honeymoon: Tasmania
Number of guests: 78
Wedding budget: $45,000
Who paid: My parents made a significant contribution to the cost of the wedding venue and accommodation for the bridal party. Other than that, James and I paid for the wedding.
“As most sunshine coast brides will know the weather can be a little unpredictable up on the moment. It was very important that the venue would be able to accommodate all types of weather. We had a bit of rain on the day but it really added to the romantic and mystical theme of the day. I honestly did not even notice it.” Photographer: Dream Bella Photography | Venue + catering : Weddings at Tiffany’s | Florist: Tiffany’s Flowers | Cake: Chocolate2Chilli | Bombonnieres: The Soap Bar, Maleny | Transport: Mystic Mountain Tours | Makeup and hair: VIP Bridal Beauty | Stationery: Bluebird Invitations | Entertainment: Sweethearts Music | Dance Instruction: Dancecorp | Wedding night accommodation: Spicers Tamarind Retreat
