Local Sunshine Coast couple, Emma and Mark, will be married by the time this article is published. Their planned nuptials were to take place at Flaxton Gardens in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. From The Bride’s Tree team, we wish them a huge congratulations and happily share their beach engagement shoot and love story with you, today!
How did you meet?
We went to the same high school – different grades – but had never met. We almost met several times over the years, but were like ships in the night. We were eventually introduced via a mutual friend and we’ve been inseparable ever since.
What makes you want to marry this person?
I can’t remember my life before I met Mark – we compliment each other so well – he’s my best friend. He makes me feel so happy and loved and is the epitome of the perfect partner.

Emma, your ring is so beautiful! Tell us about it.
We designed the ring together about 18 months prior to the engagement happening. We wanted something unique and special to us. We both drew a ring design up, and Mark’s blew mine out of the water. So much so the jeweller told him that he’d missed his calling!
What do you love doing together?
We love getting out and about in the fresh air and sunshine. We love our beach walks and little adventures. Just creating amazing memories together that are filled with so much laughter and happiness.
Who proposed? How did it go down?
Mark and I go to the Gold Coast for our anniversary each year, and he organised a sunset dinner gondola ride. We were floating down the river, enjoying the food and the sunset. I had actually just stopped filming a portion of the sunset when I turned to Mark and he began saying some really lovely and sentimental things. Before I knew it, the ring box was in his hand and the rest is history.
