Moranbah couple, Kathleen and Austyn, relied on family and friends to help them plan their destination wedding in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
I particularly love all the sweet little DIY creative projects they banded together with Kathleen’s mother and sister and her partner to complete from desserts to pocket squares to stationery.
However it’s the super cute Mr. & Mrs Penguin cake toppers that Austyn whittled and hand-carved, then Kathleen painted and dressed the little guys! I absolutely love them, I know you will, too. See below for the ultimate cuteness in cake toppery, and the rest of this gorgeous Maleny wedding with images by Nicky Stone Photographer and some comments from the bride.
“The men in my family all have Claddagh rings as their wedding band, and Austyn wanted to carry on the tradition too. So I bought a Claddagh ring from the original makers, Thomas Dillon, all the way from Ireland. The Ring symbolises two hands for friendship, a heart for love and a crown for loyalty.” Kathleen’s gorgeous glam look in her pink dress is set off with this gorgeous flowing auburn looks and fresh, pretty makeup design by Boudoir Blush. Incredible stand-out colourful florals created by Mondo Floral Designs.
“It really was the best day of our lives, we had such an amazing time and we were able to share it all with our family and friends. It went way to fast, so our advice is to take every little detail in, and absorb all the love around you…oh and dance the whole night away”
“Our shared humour, love for travel, the support we give one another in our chosen professions every day, our love for family and friends and our shared goals and dreams for the future are what make us work together as a couple.”
“Living in Moranbah made deliveries, appointments and planning very difficult at times, however, with the support of my family and friends we were able to have our dream wedding.”
Gah! The cuteness is undeniable.
