Kelly says there’s nothing he would change about the day he married his love, Isaac. The pair met online, and after Isaac proposed, they took the time to make sure all the little details were paid close attention in planning their dream wedding day. They did such a great job, they say they wouldn’t change a thing, and even came in under budget!
Kelly shares some of his memories from his and Isaac’s wedding day…
Our Wedding Morning Support Crew
The entire wedding party, the MC and the DJ were with us. We all got ready together – we hired a house, and 10 of us stayed the night before. Had laughs, drinks, got up, set up the venue, came back, relaxed, played Finska, and then started the prep process.
Our Venue
We chose Oceanview Estate and Winery because we wanted a winter wedding, and this place ticked all the boxes. Available dates, stunning location, not too distant from Brisbane, onsite food and beverages, and nearby accomodation. Purpose-built wedding venue, which gave us the flexibility to make it our own for the night.
Biggest Wedding-planning Challenge
The invitations! So many expensive options. We ended up taking the time, and organising it ourselves.

The Proposal
Isaac organised a dinner at a beautiful restaurant in Hobart, when we were there for our friends’ wedding. The restaurant was given all the details, including table locations, etcetera. However, they did not do the booking correctly, which caused Isaac’s anxiety to skyrocket. We stayed for dinner, walked along the harbour, and he got down on one knee and asked the question.
Why I Married Him
We enjoy the same things, we have the same values, the same goals to be better than we are, and we don’t accept anything less. We have fun in the game of life.
Most Emotional Moment of the Day
Trying to articulate our vows, whilst blubbering in front of 100 people!
Something We Would Never Change
The people – obviously my groom, but also our wedding party, our guests, our friends who offered their services, and our vendors!
