A group of local Sunshine Coast wedding vendors recently got together to create a shoots with off-the-charts levels of romance. Some might say it’s chockers full of romance. Well, those of us who were raised on The Castle would, anyway. So, basically all of us.
The styling team had not one reception space to set up, but two, as they wanted to showcase both a lunchtime Tipi wedding option in the gardens and an evening reception on the restaurant deck. Of course the shoot wouldn’t be complete without a lakeside ceremony.

Lakeside Ceremony Site
How’s the serenity? Overlooking Baroon Lake is a clearing with lush greenery surrounds, making it the perfect spot at the bottom of Secrets’ immaculate gardens.
Sunshine Coast florist, Lilacs and Lucy, brought some colour to the space with scarlet blooms in both deep and bright red with accents of powder pink and white. While Curated Weddings & Events went with classic white chairs and welcome sign to bring a fresh look to the ceremony setting.
All in One Montville Wedding Reception Venue
Take a tiny detour off the main road between Maleny and Montville to discover Secrets on the Lake. Once you’re there, you’ll find no reason to leave as everything is on site allowing you to immerse in the celebration.
You can hold all your pre and post-wedding events in one place. Have your rehearsal dinner and next day breakfast or lunch in the restaurant. You can even stay in one of the unique treehouse villas throughout your wedding weekend and remain for a beautiful relaxing honeymoon. The wedding accommodation onsite comprises of 13 treehouses – imagine the magical moments your guests will enjoy when they come to be part of your big day!
Wedding Jewellery with a Story
Not far up the road from Secrets on the Lake you’ll find Maleny Jewellers. Couples love to visit the local family owned and operated jewellers whenever they’re in town for their Hinterland wedding planning appointments.
Having your rings custom-made locally is such a beautiful way to always hold a piece of the place you were married with you. You. can also find your bridal jewellery, wedding party and parents’ gifts in their well-stocked showroom with new pieces always coming in… Thanks to owner Sandra’s obsession with seeking out the most beautiful collections from all over Australia and beyond.
Lunchtime Wedding in the Gardens
The expansive lawn in the middle of the gardens allows for enough space to hold an outdoor lunch wedding reception. While the tipi used in the shoot is a smaller option, for larger guest lists you can have a much larger tipi or two or three combined.
The styling and florals team created a seamless continuation of the colour theme designed to feel luxe and romantic. Lots of candles and fairy lights added to the atmosphere, while the cake was displayed on a rustic barrel as the reception centrepiece.
A drinks station complete with champagne coupe tower added to the wow factor for an intimate lunch wedding reception and Curated Weddings & Events styled a lounge area with a vintage sofa in deep red velvet in keeping with. the colour palette.
Dinner Recpetion on the Deck
For an evening wedding reception, couples and their guests set up on the restaurant’s deck with exclusive use of the space. More fairy lights under the elevated exposed beam ceiling and the most magical view of Lake Baroon… I mean, could you get anymore romantic than this?!
While the gardens are available for reception celebrations from 11am to 5pm, the restaurant deck is the Montville reception venue’s dedicated space for after-dark dinner and dancing with your guests.
