Niketa and Brian are highschool sweethearts, who say they are “absolutely obsessed with each other.” Well, we’re absolutely obsessed with their Beerwah Hideaway wedding!
Bride, Niketa, shared all the nitty gritty about her wedding to her one and only…
Biggest Planning Challenge
“The guest list! If only we could have everyone in our lives attend but it did allow us to reassess our relationships and the importance of the people we have in our lives.”
Advice for Future Brides and Grooms
“Take at least 15 minutes together alone to soak in everything happening around you. Invest in photography and especially videography, it will allow you to relieve the day over and over again.”
One Thing We Would Change
“The only one would have been to wake up earlier or have the ceremony slightly later in the day as there were so many bridesmaids to get ready.”
The Proposal
“I had my suspicions when Brian told me he was taking me away for the weekend, because he’s not one to organise anything, but I think that’s probably because he’d spent 11 years just organising how to propose to me, because it was like a fairytale and couldn’t have been more perfect. He took me away for the weekend to Uki NSW in a beautiful chalet at Ecoasis. Once we had arrived he made me drag our Esky half a kilometre from the car to the chalet with great difficulty while he quickly went ahead (which I now know was so he had time to set up!) When I got to the chalet in a huff after I’d struggled with the esky, he told me to be quiet, covered my eyes and walked me up stairs onto a verandah overlooking Mount Warning with our favourite song playing in the background. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. We had a candle light dinner and a peaceful weekend together without any phone or internet reception.”
