Three and a half years ago, Miranda and Ashley were introduced at a mutual friend’s 30th Birthday lunch in Auchenflower. Now the Brisbane couple are happily married, following a beachside wedding on the Sunshine Beach headland overlooking what could arguably be called one the most stunning views on all of the Sunshine Coast.
Directly opposite their ceremony spot is The Surf Club Sunshine Beach, where they held their banquet-style reception with live music under a clear marquee with lights-a-twinklin’.
Miranda and Ashley’s beautiful Sunshine Beach wedding was styled by Splash Events and photographed by Nick Evans.
“Ash and I gave each other a hand-delivered letter to each other, via the groomsmen, on the morning of the wedding, it was so romantic and personal and we will have those letters forever.” “Ash gave the groomsmen handmade cufflinks as gifts and I gave the bridesmaids small gift boxes including head pieces, earrings and casual dresses to wear whilst we got ready for the wedding.” “My younger sister, Kaitlyn, sang Adele’s version of ‘Make you feel my love’ during the reception and it was breathtaking! ” “My sisters were my bridesmaids and they helped me with almost every decision, from my wedding dress right down to the seating plan.”
“Our wedding-planning inspiration came from bridal magazines, a number of blogs and social media inspiration pages including The Bride’s Tree, The Lane and Pinterest.” “Ash had his best friends as his groomsmen; my sisters were my bridesmaids.” “I sourced a number of different things from a variety of suppliers to ensure that the wedding was what we both wanted. It took a lot of time to find the right suppliers to deliver on our dream wedding within our budget.” Wedding Secrets
Biggest splurge: Probably the styling! I kept wanting to add layers of embellishments when I would see options from the stylist! We also had a bit of a splurge on our bar tab as we both wanted to ensure that we provided premium wine and beer.
Best bargain: The flower bouquets. My original florist unfortunately closed down about six weeks before the wedding and I managed to find a floral stylist from the Gold Coast.
