It has been a bit of a joke between Suzi and James’ friends about exactly how long they had been together, but they came to the conclusion it was 10 years. When they were 19, Suzi travelled from New Zealand to the Sunshine Coast, with her sister and good friend. Whilst partying one night, James and Suzi locked eyes across the dance floor and the rest is history.
Their entire 5 day wedding celebration was held at the beautiful private property out in Eerwah Vale – Capriole Estate, and was captured beautifully by White Images.
“We had the ceremony down by the damn on the lower part of the property. The backdrop was the breathtaking view of Mount Eerwah.”
“We are both considerate of each other. It’s never about one of us. Always both”
“I’ve lived in Australia for just over 10 years but all my family live in NZ so it was really important to us to have our wedding at a venue where we could all stay together for a few nights and really let our hair down. Capriole really catered for that it was seriously the best 5 nights. We are now talking about making it an annual trip out to the property with our friends and family as we all just had that much fun!”
“I met up Chelsea from Simply Style Co 1 year out from our wedding. Chelsea and I just clicked. I had an example of what I was thinking, she asked all the right questions and understood exactly what I was after. She came back with a proposal, which I just loved, and then from then until the wedding after a few catch’s up venue visits the theme of the wedding just came to light. I pretty much left it all in Chelsea’s hands and the outcome was better than expected – she is one talented lady!”
“I was liaising with dozens of suppliers so I knew on the day I didn’t want the stress of having to worry about anything so I hired an “on the day Event Co-Coordinator”, Emily from Stella Weddings. Emily just went above and beyond of what I had expected her to do. I gave Emily a run sheet, we sat down together a week out from the wedding and ran through a few back up plans etc and then I left it all in her capable hands on the day so I didn’t have to worry about a thing – and I didn’t.”
“With the help of some talented people, I made the wedding favours. The most delicious scented lime and coconut candles with cute little “With Love” tags on them. People are still asking me if I have any left over or where they can get them from.”
Wedding Secrets
Biggest splurge: There was no massive splurge I don’t think however James and I love great food and wine so it was essential to have amazing caterers and a great supply of wine at the wedding. My dress was probably a decent splurge, but it was worth it. I was just in love with my dress and felt a million dollars on the day.
